Thanks guys,
I must emphasise that I shot in RAW as it enabled me to pull out more detail in Lightroom by playing around with the exposure, highlights, shadows, white and black sliders. Final tweaks were a touch of sharpening and just a smidgen of clarity.
I also took a few 10 second exposures but they looked like explosions in a fireworks factory as there was so much going on - spectacular but didn't lend themselves to creating decent images as there were lots of blown highlights that I could do nothing with.
