Light within

After losing interest in photography I met someone who did textures in their images, to promote mood to what their eye saw. After playing for a few months I came to the decision to see if many people on this site bother looking at digitally hacked photos.

Quite like this effect, but I'm not sure about including the title of the photo in the image itself - that tends to draw the eye away from the rest of the picture.

Arguably, you could have been a little bolder in your toning - maybe even use toning selectively to make certain elements stand out. Not convinced the current frame works - you could try an 'internal' frame and desaturate it to make a more subtle distinction between the frame and the rest of the image.

I have had a go a revamping the picture and have uploaded the modification for you.

Heavily processed images are very in vogue, and have been for some time now, so go for it! The best are really good, the worst are, well, really awful! So no change from conventional photography there.

Here I agree with CB in that you've perhaps been too conservative in your processing - at least for presentation in the tiny images on epz - and also the framing is a little too bland and somehow distracting.

Writing the title in your images always gets comments. Personally I don't like and it would generally be a negative in competition work, but ultimately it depends on what the picture is used for and your own preferences.

Carabosse- Thank you, Yes i can see what you are saying, especially the border. I did try different color versions but my own personal preference was for mono. Underdoing the texturing was something i didnt think about, I was too scared to take this one further, Thank you

Viki- thank you Smile

Malc_c- You probably hit the nail on the head, the images dont show well sometimes when smaller on this site, I never bull my own work up but i think it does look a lot better when viewed on full screen. thank you. The titles are in the photo after i saw someone do this with their work in a gallery, I just got into the habit of doing it.
