I love the composition here and the choice to present it in black and white. Nice addition of the moon. Angi

Great image, love the B&W conversion and the textures in the grass and wood. The size of the moon works for me. The only thing that is distracting to me is the telegraph pole in the top left and to the right of the lighthouse. Nevertheless it is still a fantastic shot.

The size of the moon makes the image quite surreal, which is a good thing :o)

A great movie trick to add surreal atmosphere here Pete - might be interesting to see it with a deep blue cast.

I think the moon is too hard edged and needs clouds in front of it rather than what appears to be behind it. In my mod I've softened the moon's edge and given it some extra noise which I've Gaussian blurred so it sits better in the b/g. I also cloned some cloud over the moon.

I like the look and mood of the image.

crikey Pete, thought you'd been out night-shooting for a moment Wink
was going to invite you to join the night-time group!

you can borrow my moon stencil if you like Smile it looks proper genuine

I do like this though but the moon could be a tad smaller.... but artistic licence and all that Wink

Love it. When you say layered, what exactly have you done? I like the composition and would be interested in a bit of know how. Im baffled on how to do this kind of thing.

Cheers Pete, fine work.

I think the toning is excellent Pete, really brings out all the details and textures - I'm ok with the moon Wink Like Ian, I would like to know a little bit more about how you did it, if you don't mind sharing?

The moon never looks right at the 'correct' size. I like the mood in this.

I don't `buy' the moon, in this one. I don't think it's compositionally required and, although you've balanced the brightness extremely well, it doesn't make sense in the cloudy sky.

That aside, I think it's excellent and very well composed.
