Lighting the Tors

By ian.daisley
Anyone else out in the Peak District this morning? We were treated to an amazing sunrise. I was perched up on Burbage Rocks waiting for the sun to hit the Tors in the distance - I wasn't dissapointed with the result.

Processed in Capture One v4 beta - they have made some nice improvements in the s/w.

Cheers, Ian.

Edit: Looks a little dark now I'm viewing it on my laptop screen. Let me know what you think.

Well jealous! It was dim when we were there on the Peaks Meet last month...

That f/g looks as if it's on fire Smile

I consider myself suitably chastised, Ian Grin
Fabulous colour in this one. Accentuated contrast, perhaps but not overly dark, IMO.

An attractive shot. Taking your point about being dark - I think the sky needs subduing to bring out the land. PS 'darkening highlights' and 'midtone contrast' are possibilities. Vote cast.

Colours look good to me. I was on Mam Tor last weekend, but the sunrise never materialised under the cloud! Perhaps I should have gone again today!

Jealous as hell Ian. I woke up about 20 mins too late to go out for sunrise. Looks like I missed a crcker!! Went out for sunset instead, but never materialised!!

Thanks all.
Martin - it was one of those mornings where you wanted to be in a hundred different places all at the same time!
Cheers, Ian.

Saw the light when I woke up, but had to work. Looks great against the dark sky.

Cheers Martin - can't help thinkng that there's a better composition than the one I took. No foregound perhaps and just the strip of light in the middle....

Perhaps, but I do like the light on the foreground heather.
