Lighting the Valley

By martinl
One more from Saturday up on Ringing Roger above Edale.

This was before the sun finally made it through all that thick cloud to light where we were. There were a few chinks in the cloud that were letting light through, and looked pretty good from our viewpoint. As you can imagine, this was a metering nightmare. Snowy foreground, dark mid ground, dark sky, and a very bright area where the sun was coming through the gap in the clouds. I know there are some burnt out bits, but i don't really care, as they were extremely bright anyway!

Have a great day folks.

A bloody good exposure to me mate, looks fine and very natural too. Don't envy you trying to get this right, but it looks bang on the money for me.

Yeh great exposure. You need the burned out areas in the sky to make them brighter than the snow. Beautifully done Smile
