Lights in the Dark

By Philip_H
It is 6 years ago today that my father passed away in hospital. On that day, two strange things happened. The first occurred when I was driving back to the hospital around teatime. About ten minutes away from the hospital, I got held at some traffic lights. Whilst waiting, a large white feather spiralled down from the sky, and when it caught my eye at eaves height, it spiralled back up into the sky. When I arrived at the hospital ward, I was told that my father had passed away ten minutes ago. After spending time at the hospital with family, I drove back home in the early evening, arriving there just as the last light of the day was fading. Standing on the drive with my wife, we both looked up at the night sky. Steadily crossing the sky at that moment was a star-sized white light. There was no noise from it. Then another moving star-sized white light caught our attention, this time rising vertically from behind a house opposite us. It soon became apparent that both lights were going to meet up with each other. As the lights neared each other, their speed increased, and then they joined together momentarily before both shooting off into infinity and in different directions to which they had been travelling. The following day I drew a line on a map from my house to the house where the vertical light had risen behind. I then continued the line on, which led to my parents' house 12 miles away!
