Hmm. Given I sat and processed this with a live audience I think someone might have pointed it out or I would have spotted that during the session. Looking at the 2048px JPEG then I'm not left thinking that my capable camera missed the focus, but maybe I botched something today when I made the final tweaks to the retouch and the eyes could be crisper. Some people consider me a capable player too, but I'm not infallible

The eye closest to the camera is sharp (at 100% on the original). Her lashes are pretty fine, but they're there, as is surrounding skin texture on the eyelid, cheek, etc. She doesn't have particularly patterned corneas which certainly doesn't make them look crispy. It is shot wide-open, so expecting much more than that is asking a lot.
