Lindisfarne by Moonlight

By Wooly
Taken on16th February at 21:34.

Hi everyone, hope your week is going ok.

Not expecting a lot of interest in this because itís not everybodyís cup oítea but you have to try these things.

During our stay on Holy Island we thought we would have a go at a star trail, but unfortunately there was too much moon light for a very long exposure and that very annoying light out side the front door. This was 5 minutes at F7.1. Alison very kindly lent me her D200 and remote release to set this up. My release did not support long exposures.

Thanks for looking.

[Edit] The little blobs along the left side horizon, are sheep, clearly visible in the full size version, so judging by the lack of movement, they must have been sleeping sheep. Smile

Large is bigger.

Not bad for a D200 Wink

It was a pity the moon was so bright....but an excellent effort all the same.

I really like this conversion x x

The moon? I thought it was Alison with her flash going off. It looks good to me.

It's amazing what they will do in the right hands. Tongue.

Thanks folks, gone better than expected. Looks very noisy on my crappy LCD, here at work.

It wouldn't normally be my cup of tea, but it is so well done and so atmospheric, it is rapidly growing on me.

I love the way the trails seem to give the castle a mythical, mystical feel. I wish I had the patience to experiment with these long exposures!
