Little Rosebud

By ChiliMan
Thanks for the wonderful comments and input on the Saturday Shadows rose, all Smile

Moira, the desaturation came from a filter/effect I’d used in Snapseed. I’d downloaded a free 15-day demo and was messing about with it Grin

Actually, today’s V1 was processed using Snapseed as well.

V2 is the straight-from-cam shot taken a couple of days ago. I find the whites in the back a bit distracting, to be honest. The whites are the fully opened roses. The buds are pink but the flowers are pure white…

…which you can see in V3. I did a quick grab (V3) this evening as a reference shot to show you all the full roses.

The bud itself was only little (about 1.5cm long) and I had to use an extension tube to get near enough. Cute little thing, huh? Speaking of which, congrats to the happy couple on their royal little bundle Grin

All three are so beautiful Andrew.
Can almost feel the softness wrapping itself around the rosebud.
V2 is the one for me, just love that background.

Three lovely photos, Andrew. Where V1 scores, apart from the applied desaturation, is in the isolation of the rosebud from the background.

V1 for me. Maybe not a ckassically. composed shot, but better for that, I think.

I like Snapseed - use it on my iPad quite a lot.

Like the whites in V3 Andrew.
As white as a royal nappy when it has just been put on.
And you will know I love my grot.
But a grotty nappy is one bit of grot I do not wish to see !!

I like all three, but the way you have processed V1, it is really special, a really gentle and beautiful 3D effect.
The whites in V3 are superb too.
