Very atmospheric a splendid capture. Like the way you can see the gate leading away. In the old days there would perhaps have not been boundaries and this would be seen from some way off.

Hi.
I shall agree with the comments above. I can not tell how tall this structure stands. My guess is that you have shot your subject while you were standing pointing the camera slightly downwards.

I would like to suggest a lower point of view, as if you had shot it from the hip. It may had not taken in the grass on the foreground but it would have raised the stone above the "artificial" horizon created by the flora on the background. That way your primary subject would be really elevated to the sky making those ancestors really proud with their achievement.

Thanks for your comments, the monument stands approx 6 foot tall and I took the photo at eye lever not 'down'.
