Llyn Padarn

By notsuigeneris
To celebrate the slate quarrying areas of Gwynedd in North Wales becoming a Unesco World Heritage site, here's a picture taken last week of Llyn Padarn where the slate mining and the natural beauty of Yr Eryri (Snowdonia) meet. The light was a bit bright, so not the best of pictures, but you can see the slate tip on the left, with the foothills of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on the right. The village of Llanberis is just out of the picture on the right. The Llanberis Pass is at the centre of the picture.
