Lobster Traps

By JimV
Gave much thought as to what my first upload with the Olympus E-500 should be (not that I had a lot to choose from... yet!) finally decided to upload this shot taken at Caribou, NS on 15 April. I was very impressed at how neatly the fishermen had stacked their lobster traps.
The lobster fishing season opened in the Northumberland Strait last week, unfortunately it got off to a bad start with a fisherman from Antigonish being drowned that day.

Hi Jim ~

It's great to see your first upload with the E 500. I'm glad you got the problems sorted out.

The colours in the lobster pots stand out well against the backdrop. Very nice work indeed. Sad narrative but an excellent picture.

Kind regards Phil

Great shot with the new camera! They really are tidy pots, interesting to see a bit of snow still in the b/g. Pam

Interesting picture, Jim, with nice detail and color. Hope the camera is going well for you. The fishermen here are having similar problems with bad weather.

Best regards, Kent

Not a happy start to the lobster fishing, but a good start to your new camera. I look forward to some good shots from it when you get similar weather to that which we are enjoying at the moment.

Wow ... look at all those crates .... they must catch a lot of lobsters. Are they all for the Canadian market? Good industrial pic.Like the boats and trees in the background. A sad start to the season Jim, the whole community will be upset.
Now you are back with us keep the good work flowing!!

I too love the way the Lobster traps and pharaphinalia are stacked so neatly . Nice colours to brighten a cold day .

Seems as soon as you have a new camera you wish to try out the weather changes for the worse !! Smile xx
