Local pride

Street art at the Ouseburn, Newcastle.
This was half way up a crumbling flight of steps. The version is the first shot that I took, before I realised that I could just about squeeze the bigger picture into the frame. Bill has a photo of me perched on the opposite wall and leaning backwards.
We came across it the day after watching the BBC documentary on the late Alan Hull of Lindisfarne, a lot of good Tyneside memories from the 1970s came back. All together now, The fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine...
Thanks for looking,

Thanks for an early morning chuckle and memory jog. Fog on the Tyne was a song Laing liked. He knew the words perfectly, and like a naughty school boy brought certain lines to the fore from the usual singalong sotto voce!

Keep the faith? Which faith is that now that new owners have taken over?
The team are playing like a flock of magpies this season...

Well framed and captured, in both images, Moira 😃
I watched that documentary on BBC, didn't realise Alan had written so many great songs. A very interesting program 🎵👍🏻 Think 'Meet Me On The Corner' was my fave...👍🏻

Thanks folks. We knew the Lindisfarne guys in the early 1970's. We had a flat on Clairmont Road in Newcastle, Alan and Ray Laidlaw had a mate called Terry, a window-cleaner who lived in a basement flat just along the road from us. We all used to meet up in the North Terrace Inn. Just very normal blokes. Alan didn't like being beaten at darts by a woman.
It was a different world. You cannot imagine 'celebs' living normal lives now.
