Taken last week on a dreich day with snow falling and fog rolling in to the valley.
A couple more to follow showing local conditions as we experience weather related restrictions on our movements in addition to Covid restrictions.
Many thanks for all the interest in my previous effort - appreciated, as always.
The weather may have been cack but it’s made for a lovely image Malc. Well balanced both tonally and compositionally, indeed you have found the inner beauty in dreich.

Now that is really very good. Also very dark and full of feeling. The highlights on the power lines and some of the branches are the icing on the cake.

Looking a lot like Pennsylvania of the moment--
Composed on the thirds and the snows pristine!
Well, it is still snowing here and the plows will be by soon enough---
Your image sings of dreich----perfect word for the fog and darkness

Very moody image Malc, is there a light source off stage left? It's been well used to give some modelling to the snow and lift the snow covered branches on the tree.

No light source, James, apart from a weak sun and some processing to enhance it.🙂

am i the only one who does not know what 'dreich' means?
I thought it was a typo, but clearly not...:D
agree, this photo ticks all the boxes of what you can put into a winter's vista.
