Loch Ba Boathouse

By Paul_Barr
Shot of a boathouse on Loch Ba on Rannoch Moor from last autumn.

The thick mist diffused the early morning light.

I went off to chase a herd of deer that were roaring nearby just after I took this. A few minutes later I saw a couple of guys paddling past in a kayak. I was too far away to get a shot of them. Shame, they would have looked good paddling through the mist.

The light is really quite astonishing, I was up on the moor a few weeks back and it's a sight to see early morning, you got the red which changes he scene so well.

All the very best

What a strange, extraordinary and above all beautiful scene. Your comment about the paddlers reminds me of a comment Tom Mackie made about an image he captured of a Lake District scene. It wasn't doing so well commercially, and so he copied and pasted in a boat and two oarsmen. It's become one of his best-selling images since then!

Don't know what you mean Jeanie Wink

Ian, the kayaks would have looked good on the left of this, maybe I should copy what Tom did.
