A shaft of sunlight catches on a shoulder of Ben Venue on the far shore of Loch Katrine (which is the main water supply for the City of Glasgow).

My thanks to all for the comments on Gladiolus.....1 and with special thanks to Annette {annettep38}, Alan {Sydney2}, John [jdinne} and Robert {cabbie} for their User Awards which are greatly appreciated.

Excellent composition Ronnie, the foreground has lots of interest and the patch of light lifts the image.

A rather beautiful almost framed glimpse of this extremely picturesque sight of Loch Katrine. Beautiful colours in the blooming heather, it shan't be long before they turn into their autumn colours and provide you with such a wonderful palette of rustic colour.

A beautifully balanced composition, Ronnie. The diagonal shape of the loch with foreground colour and detail in the heather, the two small trees act as columns through which you reach that lovely patch of light on the far hill, and the diagonal of the ridge line adds another zig to the zag Smile. Your flowers may get the accolades but I do admire your landscapes a lot.
