...a wonderful mountain Slioch (the Spear) and just a few miles from my base in Annat. I found this grass growing in the rock cracks, never seen this here before.

It's that lovely tree that 'grabs' at me...a scene here to be allowed to sit and ponder
and reflect all that's good in life
a beautiful capture

Like Lillian, that tree really takes my attention. Beautiful shot. Believe that there are black throated divers at Loch Maree. Have only ever passed there quickly in car - guess who was driving! Moira

grass makes good fg interest Dougie, and the lone tree is nicely positioned too. It must be nice to be in a place like this.

A slightly more conventional and interesting f/g to your image today, Dougie: love the outline of this mountain, not the first time I've seen it from your portfolio.
I don't know if I've got this wrong, but the Loch levels do seem quite low.......I know that the far north west has had better weather this summer than is perhaps the normal.
Landscape photography from which one can learn so much.

Beautiful composition Dougie, with that tree such a strong eye catcher. Lovely sky too.

In an exhibition this is the one I would find myself admiring - beautiful content and composition.

It never ceases to amaze me the places Nature can take over, Dougie.
I do like the way you hvae composed this, with the tree filling the naturalm 'hollow' in the horizon.
Looks as if it was a clear and crisp day.

Superb composition: it's the position of the tree, which in itself is beautiful. The contrast between foliage and rock stands out.
The ridge walk looks rather enticing!

I'm enjoying the austerity of these recent uploads. Cold pale greys, acid yellow/greens. And wonderful hard shadows. Very crisp, very precise.

The tree is in the perfect spot - whoever planted it deserves a pat on the back! Smile Interesting foreground with that grass and a very fine landscape.

Outstanding shot from a place I know quite well Dougie. Met Pete Chisholm for a hike yesterday up in Killin - back in soggy Staffordshire now!

Wonderful shot Dougie. You really have captured the spirit of the highlands, along with the majestic Slioch. Last time I was here, it was lashing down!

This is one of those pictures getting me homesick and wanting to rush over. Such a beauty! Perfect setting, perfect light, perfect composition...
