Loch Morlich

By liarsdance
Loch Morlich in Glenmore is a glacial feature called a kettle-hole - the hollow formed when a massive block of ice and sediment left behind by a glacier, slowly melts. The loch has a wonderful beach at the east end, is significantly deeper at the west end and the water is seriously cold all year round. Swim at your peril... The loch is surrounded by pine forest, fringed with smaller sandy beaches and also has the stunning backdrop of the often snow-clad peaks of the northern Cairngorms.

Many thanks for your views, votes and comments on my tree canopy yesterday Smile
