I love the diagonals, the background lines fighting against the bars. Iron bars do not a prison make? They give a damn good impression of one.

That would have been a mikbee shot, Ken, and a very good one too.
Although Mick would have posted colour, of course, to show up the rust. I know the padlock is not rusty - but there are clear signs of oxidation in the rest of the picture Smile

There's a bit of rust where the lock goes through two loops, The background is blue and the bars are a yellowish white and it looks as if the rust has been painted over.

Ken.

Thanks for the follow-up, Ken.
Mick used to keep returning to locations like this, checking the progress of the oxidation as obsessively as a small child observing the growth of cress on damp blotting paper.

Since I took it, it appears to have deteriorated somewhat and when I return I'll upload a new version.

I think your image really captures how we all feel at present. Once was bad enough but this second one makes us all wonder how long this whole thing will last. All we are fed are hopes for the future with what appears no effect...

A least we have chance to look at everyone's great images.

When I See images like this, I alwyas wonder if the lock is to protect something within, or to prevent escape...

I prefer the mono version. Good details and composition. It must be the most used word this year, lock or lockdown!
