Locked Faith

By Morpyre
first, no offense is intended by this image to any relevent followers of a religion of any sort.

in this piece i am portraying my loss of faith in my life due to the day to day battle of depression, stress & anxiety & loss of direction in life. i have suffered ill health caused by my intense stress which in turn has limited me drastically for many years. there are glimpses of hope at times but mostly feeling trapped and locked trying to hold on but struggling in the process.

the visuals i create with my art are often mostly about emotion, feeling and thought rather than doing something because it is current popular subject. what i do doesn't always make sense to other people but to me makes complete sense and what is personal art if it does not portray the persona of the artist.

This is a beautiful creation, Peter. Part of your life is your photography, and your creations, which you excel at, always keep that part of your life in your mind, for your images give me, and others on ePZ, a lot of inspiration and pleasure. Carol

kudos to you for being so open and honest about your life. i can't tell you how much i respect that. the majority of people go around pretending to themselves and everyone around them that all is well when it is not which is a colossal waste of time and energy. nothing as pathetic as someone who isn't brave enough to turn around and face their demons. as for religion, my faith is my only courage in this life so we are complete opposites where that is concerned. but i do understand how you feel and consider you a fighter as i know all the struggles that you have survived and are surviving.

a photograph is like a blank canvas to a photographer who uses their imagery for personal expression. we go past the simple record shot and those of us who push that even further go past the easy, pretty stuff and get to this place where the deep, personal things are. it's where i like to be, for the most part, so i truly appreciate a piece like this. your work is always like you - honest and open and void of ANYTHING phony. you are one of those unique individuals who doesn't lie - ever - not in your work or to yourself or to anyone else. and that's what i like most about you.

and now that i've strung more than two sentences together my brain is exhausted and ready for a nap. =)

(love an image that makes you think. =)

thank so much - hearing these words are the uplifting elements i need to keep my floating and strong Grin

i shall always have my passion for art because it is a place i can feel alive regardless of the situation i am in. without visual expression everything would bounce around inside my head and never be free and out in the open either to release a negative or share a positive Grin
