Lockheed L-1011 Tristar

This shot of a Royal Air Force Tristar CK1 landing at RAF Brize Norton was taken a couple of years ago. It is shown in its old colour scheme which is now a mat grey finish. This aircraft was originally operated by british airways, and was converted into a tanker and cargo aircraft by Marshalls of Cambridge in the 1980's, when the air to air refueling was added along with a freight door to the side of the forward fuselage.

Well, you get a click because I use to work on these. Delta Airline used these instead of the DC10 which is almost the same aircraft but from a different company. Nice capture.

Thanks for your comments, I did not have the pleasure of working on the Tristar, the biggest aircraft I got to work on was the VC10.
