I suppose i'll have to be the first to do the harsh critique Ray, my friend.
Great side on angle and capture in an area that I know is notorius for bad light. Guessing you took the advice and had the ISO up high as the noise in the bg is quite noticeable and has also shown on the chest of the Longy. Also the dissadvantage of being a member we can view large and really see the detail or lack off. The plumage could be sharper, might have suffered if you tried to reduce noise.
Overall though a good image and one more of this bird, that eludes me.
Richard
Hi Ray,Ithink you aare progressing well, its all practice as well I know, recognise the setting gray.

love these little birds but they're so difficult to capture as they're bare still for a few second

Just a little soft on plumage detail Ray and, as I am sure youwill agree, the BG is a bit on the noisy side. Still a lovely shot.

I think you did very well knowing after today and my own attempts these little birds are very skittish and jump about all over the place I found a half decent shot difficult to say the least

I have to agree with Richard and Ron's comments on this one Ray - detail might also be suffering from a fairly heavy crop - still inspite of all the "harsh" critique I think this is by far a much better bird shot than way back in you p/f - so good positive progress overall - wait for a brighter day - lower ISO and better shots - Ina
