Longmoor Pool Dam

By Stephen_B
Longmoor Pool in Sutton Park was created in 1734 by this dam. A mill was built below the dam using water from the pool to turn its waterwheel. The mill fell out of use in the twentieth century, and was demolished in 1938. It is hard to see any trace of the mill and millerís house now, but the pool is back almost to its original purpose - fishing and bird-watching.

Thank you for all the votes on my previous Longmoor Pool image, and particularly Guy (Drummerdelight) for his kind UA.

Thanks for looking

Steve
