Look Out!!

By Morgs
This is the old coastguard lookout that is situated high on the Deer Park near to Martin's Haven in Pembrokeshire. All the Skomer visitors will recognise it from when they travel out on the Dale Princess as it dominates the Wooltack Point peninsula. It is at this location as Jack Sound, the stretch of water between Skomer and the mainland is amongst amongst the most treacherous tidal races in the world. Water speeds can get up to 40 mph when the tide is rushing through, hence the reason that Skomer is a great location for wildlife as the fish get forced through. A great spot to see pods of porpoise and dolphins too.
A pod of about 300+ was spotted here three years ago!!
Ta for looking, I'm off to Pembs today for a spot of kayaking for the weekend!!

It takes me 5 years to get to where I am now (still a novice).
And when I look at you, Mitchy (Phil), and Trooper coming up in such a fast pace, it just makes me wonder why it takes me so bloody loonnnggg!!!
And that makes me jealous and anxious.

Stupendous image Dave.

Detail and colour are fabulous. Was stood behind this with platchet about 12 days ago sheltering from the rain. The look out guy walked up to it and opned up...as he did I cheekily asked him could we shelter in there for a mo...he didn't say a word got inside and locked the door...lol

I hope the bugger fried later when it was sweltering.... :o)

Super shot!

Just a small compositional suggestion. It looks like the outcrop of whitish rock ends just outside the frame. If that is the case, it would have been better to include all of it, rather than shaving off the end, to stop it leading the eye out of the composition. If a minor recomposition wouldn't have put the whole outcrop in the frame, a little work with the clone tool would achieve the same result.
