Today's lead image was taken a couple of days ago during a short break in Lincoln. It shows the Norman West Front of this newly restored and beautiful cathedral. Apparently, the scaffolding has only recently been removed following the restoration work so I was lucky to have uninterrupted views of this wonderful and very 'clean looking' building.
All of the versions are crops of the lead image and are intended to show some of the detail of the carvings and illustrate the amazingly skilful craftsmanship that went into the creation of this magnificent edifice.
I intend to re-visit at some time with a long lens and tripod in order to 'get closer' to the stonework and capture some more detailed images.
Many thanks for all votes and comments on my 'Fence? ..... What Fence?' upload and, especially, to Isabel for her user award - all much appreciated, as always.
I hope you have a good day.
Richard
