Lord Stones. Carlton Bank, North Yorkshire, England UK

By PaulRookes
Lord Stones is named after the three iconic stones positioned high on a Bronze Age mound behind the country park’s cafe, once believed to mark the ancient land boundaries of Lord Duncan, Lord Dudley De L’isle and Lord Wharton.

Thanks for looking.....

Gorgeous colours and light, beautiful sky and lovely composition. I like the way the foremost stone points to the lighter patch of sky and the way the light picks out the textures and carved pattern on the stone. Thanks for the historical and geographical details; I'm tempted to pay a visit!!

Wonderful capture, not only the visual but this has a feel to it also. I appreciate the historical information.
