Never seen a shark so far inland, and up on the moors before. Kids enjoying the summer on Dartmoor, I do like this shot a lot.

I've felt very uninspired lately, felt I'd stagnated a bit, wasn't sure where I want to go, there are so many images online that you become satiated, that's not to say they're not good, they are, very good, but I find i'm comparing myself and judging what I do and I've fallen into the trap of taking photos that others like. I was reading about Vivian Maier, enjoyed her photography for 50 years but never showed them to anybody, what was important for her was the creating, not sharing, interesting! Am I missing something? are we all so tuned in to getting likes, that we don't create what we like?

Sorry that's a dreadful description for a photo, so here's a photo that I like.

I understand how you feel.
What I like about this is that when I saw it as a thumbnail, I believed it!

I'll bet that had the minnows and tadpoles worried! Lovely picture and it's all about the light and the story. Your photography has its own style and stands up with the best, John.

You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself! Nelson, R (1972) Garden Party.

We all hit that spot from time to time. The shot tells a little story of life in a place you love, perfectly taken as ever. We are all individual and if you are happy with your images and enjoy your photography that's what matters.

Glad you've kept that great sense of humour John!

Photography, like any Art form, requires the Artist to question and then stretch for their own idea of acceptable, John.
I take images to record my daily experiences and to expand my own knowledge of my chosen field, and if I can bring some pleasure and a smile to others on that journey, it,s a bonus.
You have succeeded with this one, wide grin on my face SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

I like this picture, I do notice that the shark has its own list of hazard warnings!!

I completely agree with the comments, I have always only presented a picture that I like, even when I was entering competitions in camera clubs (another story there I think). I feel that you need to do what you want to do.
