The b&w adds drama that's absent from the colour original. That's often the problem with blue skies.
I'd be tempted to take it a bit further... maybe a soft grad on the sky, and a very light vignette can subtly enhance depth.

Yes. I agree with the above comments. The pov adds drama and the mono version gives even more mood to the shot.

Great to see a bit more than expected.
I actually like the colour version good though the mono is.
