"Lowdown Life"

By RonnieAG
I had to excavate a small hole in the leaf litter of the forest floor to get down low enough to get this view looking up at these two and a half inch high mushrooms ( about 6.5 cm.).........so a view seldom seen. It was raining at the time but I was covered by overhanging leaves, and as it was very dark there I again used fill-in flash.
I am not sure of their ID but I can confirm that the gill attachment to the stem is described as adnexed.

Grateful thanks to all who appended such nice comments on Mushrooms on the March, and with special thanks to Bob {bobpaige1} for his User Award........most unexpected but equally welcome.

Ronnie........aka POD of PODpark.....WinkWink

The gill shapes fascinate me--like how they radiate from the center-- Such a great image of them--

Beautifully lit against the trees, Ronnie. I tried to find them on 'google images' without success but did come across a couple of your other images! GrinGrin

The POV gives the impression that these mushrooms are far bigger than they actually are.
I had to smile at Netta's comment - I bet she's right, though, Ronnie!

You really should create a book on fungi Ronnie............the attention to detail and getting the right angles is so impressive. I have seldom see such good shots of each species you find. These low angle shots are an absolute joy and I hope your knees hold out to get more of the same Wink. From the background it appears that this is another large patch. I only ever see little clumps of three of four and usually they are in poor condition..................but then I do not know where this enchanted forest is Sad

very much worth the effort Ronnie, at least ye had some breeks on to get dirty. Again, the fill in flash has brought all the detail out so very well lots of good detail in the undergrowth as well.
