Lower Walshaw Falls

By KBan
Well, where do i start!!!
We had a mini EPZ meet on Saturday morning at Hardcastle Crags with Pegon, Mike Smith, Dweezil, Malcolm S, Norma,Tony Hanners, JudC and the trepid Bill.

We were originally going to Lumb falls but was deemed to risky at this time of year, so we deceided on Walshaw Falls. We had seen a black and white photo on a website...It looked great.

We parked our cars above Hardcastle Crags and made the treacherous treck down to Gibson Mill.........One slip and surely a long roll down the steep hill, then a trail through the woods.............. Mike had his map out, where's is this Falls, Hope it still exists???

We located it on the map, it was up a very steep incline, a few of us set out in front, wow was it biting on those thighs!!!!!

We spotted the falls, it looked great but we were over the top of it. Mike, Dweezil and I had a go at getting down to a decent shooting point................ Some very hairy moments for all of us, we finally gave up......... No wonder there's only an old black and white photo of the falls !!!!!!!!!

Still enjoyed the experience and the company though................The things we do for a uploadable shot for EPZ !!!

This shot is just below Walshaw Falls so i've named it Lower Walshaw Falls

Hi Keith,
What a brilliant description, you had me hanging on the edge of my seat, just about fell off as if i was going to the cliff with you and i'm scared of heights........This is a marvellous shots and i think the title has been well named. Love how the angle makes the falls flow out of the lhbc of your screen, table is very wet now....brilliant lighting, texture, meandering of the falls, motion and colours/tones and the rest of the woods look like a lovely walk.take care,AnnSmile
