After a fruitless hour trying to photograph some dragonflies at a pond, i found myself chasing some butterflies through some dense tall grass. I happened to look down at the right moment and found this guy just hanging out on this stalk of grass. This was the best of 4 shots i took straightaway because as soon as i shifted position to get a better angle off he flew.

Shot one handed as i was carrying the tripod in the other Smile

Enjoy my first ever dragonfly.

Best ones work by accident,waiting never does.
I've been waiting 2 days for a "BIG UN" to land in the garden but he just whirrs round and off.
