Luddenden Dean,

By phil99
Another from a little series of now deserted farms around Calderdale . It intrigues me as to who lived there and how they suddenly decided to leave the hard life they must have had to endure. No roads go to this one but it was connected by electricity. Luddenden Dean is situated in one of the small valleys that overhang the main Calder Valley.Best viewed LARGE for greater detail . Many thanks for getting so far . Clicks and comments are much appreciated ....Phil

I love these old dwelling places and like your goodself wonder who lived there and why they left - things were hard in those times I am sure things are very different now to when I was younger - amazing they had electricity I remember my nan with gas lighting and mantles to which you put a match I cant imagine being without modern facilities now, we take it all for granted - well taken picture

A cracking landscape. Just imagine looking at that every morning when yo wake up then realise you have to walk the fells to feed the sheep.
