Lunar mosaic - Southern Highlands

By Aenima
When the light hits just right along the terminator the size and depth of the crater walls and rocky peaks become more visible in the mountainous, meteor stricken regions of the lunar landscape.
This is an area called Southern Highlands (in the picture south is up) and some of the craters are many kilometres in depth and width.

The mosaic was stitched together in microsoft ICE using individual frames from AVI files stacked in registax6 - done with a 200mm reflector and a spc900nc webcam in addition to a 3x barlow lens.

Looks like something right out of NASA's Apollo catalog. Excellent work.
