Luscious Ledbury

By LynneJoyce
This will be the last post until the very end of May as we are off to Spain on saturday (YAY) - images from a recent long weekend with my friend Susie in her delightful home town of Ledbury in Herefordshire. Needless to say editing and choosing these from the many that I took whilst there has served more than one purpose, including keeping my mind off the horrible sore throat and cold that I am developing but best of all, avoiding packing!!!

Just for a change I have led with my personal favourite, obsessed as I am by reflections and how we see and perceive the visual world. With the rest I have tried to give a flavour of the place. I make no apologies for featuring three images of the architecturally avant garde Tinsmiths building as I love the quirky wonkiness that alludes to the Tudor buildings in the town. I hope the architect has received all the awards that this innovative but reflective piece of modernism deserves.

V5 is an interior shot of one of the many shops in Ledbury that sells what I call 'unnecessaries' and V11 is the interior of an ancient barn. The rest are outdoor shots and include one of Susie's very upmarket, two storey garden shed, V2.

Anyway, thank you for looking and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them. We have purchased a MIFI (personal wireless hotspot) so I should be able to get on line once we get to Spain but f I am totally distracted by holidaying, do accept my apologies.

You have given us a real taste of the town with this eclectic set of images: I too like reflections so I appreciate your leading with that, but I also have a soft spot for the half timbered buildings. The wonky Tinsmiths demands more than one shot for sure.
Hope you get over your URI quickly and have a great holiday with opportunities for loads more images.

So enjoyed the tour of Ledbury, a town I don't know at all. The Tinsmiths is amazing!

Have a wonderful holiday. Surely that should help drive away your cold, in which case I am doubly jealous as no doubt my own cold will still be hanging about on your return!

A visit to a town I haven't seen through your images.
I do love the Tinsmith images in V4, 9 and 15.
I also love the roof in V5 and I'm afraid the 'unnecessaries' in v5 would tempt me greatly!
Have a great holiday.

Oh dear. Impossible to chose... Well I love the quirky glass house being from the land of boring glass houses... The bike on the roof and the spectacular light reflection in the alley. Which doesn't mean the others aren't also very good.
Thanks for the UA, very special as I know you love dogs .... I'm thinking of the right thank you...

A great set Lynne. All different and all so interesting to see. A fun one of Susie peeking and the bike on the roof for whatever reason. And the many reflections. All well taken shots ......Sandy

The Tinsmiths building is remarkable so I'm glad you decided to include more than one image of it. The reflections in the building are just wonderful. Another great set Lynne and I love the bike too. I'm amused by Sandy's comment - we are used to our butchers putting their bikes on the roof but I guess it's something she hasn't seen before. Enjoy Spain! We're going in ten days or so too (to the north) so I'm not thinking of packing just yet.

Such an interesting and lovely place! And such a polished car in V1 - fantastic for those wonderful reflections you've caught...and well caught too, Lynne. V1 is a great shot to lead with but my favourite here has to be V10 with the sunlight projecting those windows onto the wall. Awe. Some. Well seen SmileSmile

I love buildings...and you've got some wonderful shots here. By the way, I like your term ---> "unnecessaries"...lol Grin

A wonderful set here, Lynne, and well met again, friend after a year or so! Love the leader pic, yes lovely 'take' on the world through reflections.....begs the question of what is ultimately 'real'!
Hope you have a great time, I'm sure you are already. Could you wrap up some warm sun and post it to Britain please. My frogs would be very grateful Wink
