Machine Precision

By Actuarius
I'm really happy with this and it shows the way I want to go. I'm really starting to think of how I can use the immediacy of digital to try different lighting set-ups and the definition to close crop to get exactly the composition I want.

It's very difficult to get satisfactory pictures like this, particularly with some of the bright metal parts. Suggest you try RAW.

Thanks, advice is always gratefully received. However the image is sharp enough for me on this. Admittedly the clarity is a default with regard to my current abilities but I do not think I would go for a higher resolution or more widely defined balance. The composition is all and the slight blurring of, and refraction within, the background polished metal helps to lift the main geometric elements. The beauty is in the main subject matter and I would not chase hollow technical excellence for the sacrifice of artistic creation. Besides, just how clear does it have to be?
