Macugnaga (1)

By TrevBatWCC
Just 2 km up the road from Borca shown in my previous upload is the mountain village of Macugnaga, at 1,324 metres above sea level. It is located at the base of Monte Rosa, which reaches 4,638 metres high. It's a larger village than Borca, yet still only has a population of 650. Like many places in the Alpine regions, most of the buildings are of the beautiful traditional wooden chalets.
I took plenty of pics in this lovely village, and in between had a tasty lunch of Tagliatelle with Gorgonzola & walnuts at the Hotel Flora Ristorante in the Piazza Municipio 🍝🍺😋 The last version was captured whilst sat at my table outside the restaurant, looking back across the Piazza.

Many thanks to Ronnie, Carole (Monochrome2004), Lynne (LynneJoyce), Richard (DicksPics), Lory, Phil (PhilT2), Colleen and Peter (Mollycat) for their User Awards on my previous upload, Walser House Museum: inside , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 👍

Trev 😀

A beautiful spot with photo opportunity at every turn: lovely set documenting this village.
Monte Rosa I know so well from views of it from the Zermatt?Gornergrat Swiss side, but I have never seen a view of this peal from the south.
