Maine #6

By handlerstudio

One of the things we saw in "The County" in Maine were barns "past their prime". I have always loved images of barns, houses, boats, cars, trucks, etc., as they decay and return to the earth. These three were good examples. Note in the lead image, the corner of a potato field, the main crop in Aroostook County.

As the climate warms up , Maine may become less formidable---
Actually, it is amazing to me that the barns have no been used for fire wood, or picture frames, etc.

But you found some great images--one is even sitting on a mowed lawn???

All that aside, have a great weekend---and look for a PM

One sees this way too often. Luckily the Amish have bought and resurrected many of the old farms in the County.
With the demise of the railroad, the potato industry suffered and the great old farms were one of the victims.
