I've taken a few images around the old, now somewhat rundown, art deco cinema building in Hartlepool. Built in the mid 1930's Majestic/Odeon.
The maintenance access doors on the front facade seem more than a little odd without neon sign in place.
From the Saturday Morning Kids clubs to early courting nights out, the Odeon was a central part on entertainment in Hartlepool for over 50yrs.
What a great building and I'm sure it would make a wonderful office space for some group, with a real class deco building. It could also become part of the office logo.
Great shot Dave.

Same how these old cinemas are left to decay, But i guess conversoins are difficult because of the lack of natural lighting in the main part of the building. Maybe another to keep the facade and build modern behind it?
Nicely photographed Dave, I. love the two decorative panels

Saturdays were always movie night when I was a kid. We were always hoping for a western that we would then re-enact most of the next week. The two little local movie houses went first and the last one standing closed down last year. No point in paying $20 to see a movie you can watch it on Netflix.

My memories of those old cinemas ( not around the 1920s) were of the back seats with my girlfriend !
Sigh......happy days !
Lovely nostalgic photo Dave.
