Making a Tart

By Mavis
This was my Christmas Present from Matt and Sylvia . A wonderful sunny day . I met some great people and one in particular . She offered me a ride in her boat . After we had made these savoury tarts we ate them for lunch with a salad and wine . Great fun all the talk going round the table .

First thought - I want to be there. Lovely light, lovely mellow honey tones, you can sense the atmosphere. What a good present, and a great souvenir for after the tart and wine have gone.

Mavis this is such a refreshingly different image from those normally published here - action and a story, and thoughts of food and drink - a lovely combination!

Thank you all yes certainly a day to remember . Can't believe it was only yesterday it took place . The grounds are peaceful and very beautiful . Perhaps tomorrow I might show you the Chocolate and Raspberry tart he made . He did ask me if I was from some magazine . LOL

What a lovely original idea for your birthday Maeve. So glad you enjoyed your day. I wonder if the two gentlemen watching will go home and practice their new found culinary skills. Barbaraxx

Sounds like you had a wonderful time Mavis! What I would give for a kitchen that big and airy .... mine is sooooooooo tiny! baking is just no fun in it! A lovely shot to remind you of how much fun you had! Click*

There were 6 females there too . All ages one sweet young thing heavily pregnant and all the ages in between and then me LOL . The young lady who should have taken us was on her honeymoon and we didn't do the Terrines as promised !. I learnt of new ways to get difficult rich pastry into the pie plate by dumping all the crumbs of pastry into the pie plate and then using the bottom of a flat tumbler and moving it round the middle of the plate till it was firm and flat and then pushing it against the sidestill they too were fine and neat. Great to get hands on and that it worked Smile
