Now, that's interesting! Having read the above comments, I too expected to prefer V 2, Dougie, but in fact my favourite is the less contrasty and less saturated V 1........I can't help feeling it looks more natural, esp. as a photo, whereas if I were to do a painting of it I would probably go for the punchier V 2.
Looks like the weather was excellent that day, blue skies and silver sands which I was hoping to see.

Hi Dougie - a beautiful daytime shot, my kind of stuff...
My original thought was a bit overexposed and washed out, and version 2 is better in that regard, but I feel it darkens the top of the sky too much.
My solution...blend the two, mainly v2 but keep the top of the sky from v1 (which is maybe what Moira was hinting at?...
Nice work whichever way you take it..
