Not only is this a colourful, sharp image for me it emphasises the value of good photography, it allows me to see things I may not normally see, clear, close and in detail, and I can look at it for as long as I want to, it is not going to wander, fly or swim off.

Fairly certain this is a drake King Eider (Somateria spectabilis) , ive seen one only once very distant at sea. wonderful photograph.

I've not seen this type of eider duck before, he certainly has some unusual markings
