MALINI IVa - On An Open Fire

By ChiliMan
And ON we go with the MALINI series Smile

[For those who don't know what this series is about, there's a somewhat torturous not-so-little write-up in MALINI III]

----- along the wall outside Malini's house there were these gloriosas (growing down from the fence above). Covering the walls were beautiful leaves which provided a nice backdrop.

Now I was quite happy with the orginal final shot...but then I decided to play with effects in Paint Shop Pro.

The shot you see here is what happened after I applied "Balls and Bubbles" to the final shot. I kinda like how this ended up looking like a X'mas card.

Also, doesn't the gloriosa itself look like a campfire??

I love gloriosas. I grew up with them on our fence. They go through so many beautiful stages.

I'll put up the original final shot (pre-bally-bubbly) after this one.

Hope you all have a great weekend coming up.

Andrew Smile

Oh Andrew, when I saw this thumbnail in my favourites I thought to myself...I know Singapore is so many hours ahead of us, but Xmas can't be this early surely, but now it's open & I've read your description I understand.
It is a very beautiful flower & such a gorgeous colour, & I love all the little balls & bubbles in the background.
Looks as if we have both been messing about today, & I thank you for your kind comment on mine.
Take care hun*Wink*

An excellent shot of the gloriosas Andrew, but have to agree with those who question the choice of background.

What an amazing plant. I quite like the "green aero" but the white on the left is a bit distracting. Great background for this.

These are soooooooo beautiful my first 'experience' was in Kent and i was fascinated by the wonderful gloriosa, it suits its name.....
On this i love the composition and the way it just 'hangs' in the frame... as for the b/g.... haha its so different and makes it an image 'with a difference'... lovely manipulation and yes i can 'see' Santa season with the great colours.
