"Man in the Mission"

By madhoosphotography
This was shot at my recent trip in China, the photo were i took the Beautiful server... Here bright back lighting was the critical issue for me, though I hope I've managed to achieve enough light on his face......Expecting your Comments and constructive critiques dear Photographers ( Modifications as well ).............Smile

The light on his face is actually very good and you have an interesting candid. Range of tones adequately handled but I think there are a few too many chair backs in the foreground.

Good candid - nice light on face and great concentration captured.
Not much you can do about chair backs though!

have to agree, it has a nice reportage sort of feel to it and the light is quite nice and the backlight through the windows handled well so the highlights are retained. subdued but held.

compositionally its pretty good and shows the mans concentration but possibly a slight move to the side may have isolated his head a little more against the dark curtain and avoided the vertical line intersecting his head.

im not to concerned about the chairs but i wonder if a braver attempt may have been to use a wide aperature and attempted to throw them more out of focus and restrict the depth of field to just the head.

im sure the decision to make this mono was agood one and its a quite pleasant conversion.

regards Phil

Subtle light in a reportage shot, mono, all work nicely together. Just to be a little picky, the shot is not level, needs a clockwise rotation, - I used his laptop keyboard as a reference.

I think your border style repeats the tops of the chairs nicely.

Thanks once again dear Phil......But in this case i have used the maximum wide apearture possible in my lens ( f4.5, which you can see in the meta-data provided above) though i was able to achieve only this result .............SmileSmileSmileSmile
