Manchester under Tier4 restrictions

By philtaylorphoto
Rush hour, New year's Eve, Manchester. Although the last day of the year, with many people still on holiday, the city would normally be busy with visitors to the Sales.

Instead, under Tier 4 Coronavirus restrictions all non essential retail is closed, along with bars and restaurants with only takeaways permitted.

In the suburbs heavy snow had fallen, but due to the warmer climate it melts quickly in town. The wet roads, reflections of traffic lights on the tram tracks combined with the early morning dim light add to the dystopian atmosphere.

Assignment was used in the Daily Mirror.

Or, as we call it just Manchester.

Good to see it getting a few votes though.

As I've commented in the past, epz is a very different place as to what sells to the media. I recently shot a 3 Tier fish, chip and mushy pea pie to poke fun at the restrictions, which was run very large in 3 national tabloids-3 votes.

Both yesterday's snowy landscape.and this seem to be doing passably here. The snow scene had zero sales, and another dreary Manchester chalked up 1 sale to the Mirror
