Mantegna - San Zeno Altarpiece

By GwailoAngMo
Napoleon was quite the kleptomaniac. Wherever his French military conquered he had to half inch as much art as possible. In 1797 his minions decided to cart off the altarpiece by Mantegna. The three smaller paintings here are copies, the originals are in Paris and Tours. The main picture was returned in 1815.
