Marble carving

By morpheus1955
Know for something completely different, well for me Smile This is a carving in a local church which caught my eye as I entered the church, had to be quick with this as the clouds were forming for another down pour :-(
Anyway hope it appeals.............

Please look large if you have the time.

Thank you as always for all your C&C's very much appreciated as always.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Hugh

Obviously, a beautiful carving and the light and deep shadow really adds a special touch. Sorry I didn't manage to get back yesterday. Sort of sums up my days at present, but looks as though PamelaJean gave you the answer?

I think because it's how we would expect to see in real life, with mystery, hidden detail disappearing into shadows; but this is an area where photography conventionally has to show everything and not allow the mystery. Wonderful and refreshing.
