Fine coloured shadows Kate.
And don't let the voting put you off for the ''off beat'' images.
When I joined the site nearly 8 years ago my voting figures for rust was in single figures and I never saw too many other rusty shots.
Now it takes me all my time keeping up with the many rusty images I see on site !!
Mick.

Very well thought out, with great colours and shadows
I wouldn't worry too much about lack of votes. There is some amazing photographers on here that just don't get the recognition they deserve and there is some that seem to get loads of plaudits for even poor images. I thought your last image wasn't very eye catching for a thumbnail which makes a huge difference on here, but on closer inspection I would have been well pleased with it if it was mine

You have nailed it Kate, love the coloured shadows, excellent shot....don't go worrying yourself about votes, the only reason why I leave mine on my uploads as sometimes people are short of time and at least a vote tells me they were there. You are one of the few members who consistently try new techniques and genres...keep it up

This is much better than your first attempt, Kate, not a hint of blutack!
There's more to ICM than just waving a camera around, as people often discover when they try to do it.
And you shouldn't worry about votes...I count myself lucky if I get as many as 30. (Might get more if I wasn't such a miserable git

It's good to experiment and try new things - and part of that is failing and making mistakes. These marble shots and the Rising one are you expressing yourself and your desire to be different. I personally liked the effect in your Rising image.
Time, patience and perseverance, Kate.
The shadows here are like the tails of comets as the marbles move left....

Its good try experiment and try different types of shots. It how we learn. The shot yesterday was good, but I think some people didnt realise it was an in camera movement, rather than a Photoshop motion blur. Do the motion blur again. Use a shorter shutter speed than you did. Check out Ladigit, a member from Ireland thats done a few very nice camera movement shots recently, - look at her settings.
Dont judge how good your shot is by the number of votes you receive. Many EC images have less that 20 votes. Votes can be very misleading.
You get a vote from me on this, and on yesterdays because youve tried something different.

A marvellous or should that be marbellous image Kate, very colourful, creative and imaginative. I wouldn't worry too much about votes, they are not the be all and end all. Some subjects are just more popular than others like over saturated HDR landscapes, cute kittens, birds on sticks, scantily clad ladies etc!
