Marching Trumpeters

By tonyguitar
These trumpeter swans were lined up along a farmer's roadway. As I walked along Friday morning, they all moved slowly leftward into the field like a cautious white army. This is about one fifth of the moving front. They over winter here in Courtenay B.C. every year. Photo opportunities are better at nearby Lewis Park where they land and take off on the river. So far they have not visited Lewis park this season, so no really good flight shots yet.
