marigold muncher!

By CarolG
I saw this beautiful orange grasshopper in the meadow and just had to photograph him, but he was reluctant to jump onto a suitable perch. I managed to persuade him to sit on a marigold in the garden, whereupon he discovered that marigolds have a wonderful taste, and he proceeded to munch away to his heart's content!
Apologies for the lack of clicks/comments yesterday, I was out and about with ePZ'er Sandra (aka crookymonsta) showing her some of our beautiful island scenery, and taking a few pics, too!

Greedy little beggar! V3 for me, you can see the individual bites!
In all of them he seems to be hanging on to the petal, 'It's mine, you can't have any'.

You'd think a hopper of that colour might be drawn to an orange flower for camouflage reasons, but you have helped it discover the delights of a varied menu anyway.
