Mark Scott enjoys sun and fast sections of the Downhill Series

Mark Scott (GBR) (Junior) one of only 5 juniors to qualify for the open finals, UCI World Cup Mountain Bike Downhill Series, Stage 2 Fort William, Scotland - 5/6 June 2010 - Five Juniors made it into the top 80 finals, three of which were British riders, this is another cycling event where the Brits excel.

Nicely caught bit of action. I would crop a little tighter along the top, just below the top of the snow to focus in on the action a little better.

Excellent shot Jools, how do you manage to get what seems to be a lot of power from your off camera flash at that shutter speed? I find HSS drops the output too much for shots like this (Nikon though).

Cheers Darren, I can't remember specific details but I am pretty sure this is only one flash unit, it was set close to the course at low level shooting directly in line with the bike. Had to be careful not shoot into rider eye line. Knew this spot would have them looking at me, set to the right was fine. I may have the power cranked up on the flash a bit and/or snooted by way of a manual focal length. But still only one flash, a 580exII.
